THE WATSON HEADACHE® APPROACH

WATSON HEADACHE APPROACH: Services

The Watson Headache® Approach is internationally recognised and uses specific manual techniques to assess and treat the underlying cause of headaches and migraines. It uses precise gentle slow hold techniques to assess any dysfunction in the cervical spine (neck) and assess its relevance in the presentation of headache, migraine or other issues.There is no clicking or clacking or high velocity thrust manoeuvres.

Your initial appointment will last an hour to allow Maia to fully assess what is driving your headache in order to treat the structures responsible, not just the symptoms.

By finding out details of your specific headache such as:

Intensity;

Duration;

Frequency;

Location,

we can quickly assess how your treatment is progressing. Often where you feel the pain is not where it is coming from.With a detailed assessment the goal is to find the source and demonstrate this to you during the consultation.

Maia is a Watson Headache® Certified Practitioner, and attended the Watson Headache® Institute Level 3 Certification Headache Course titled “Cervicogenic Headache and The Role of C1-C3 Cervical Afferents in Primary Headache” presented by Dr Dean H Watson PhD, Australian Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist. The course was held offline on 24/5/24 - 27/5/24, in Adelaide, Australia. For further information go to: www.WatsonHeadacheInstitute.com.

The course was based on the Watson Headache® Approach, a protocol for the skilled assessment and management of the upper cervical (neck) spine in Cervicogenic and Primary Headache, and related conditions in which the underlying dysfunction is sensitisation of the lower brainstem. The Watson Headache® Approach is recognised as a scientifically researched method of examination as well as a comprehensive clinical management system.
